My Studio for Voice Over on Vancouver Island
(AKA – STUDIO NORTH)
We tried living in Vancouver. It’s a lovely place. Especially to visit. But just try driving downtown on West Georgia at 5:00 someday. And don’t even get me started about social distancing.
Goodbye city… Hello Nature.
My primary studio is in central Vancouver Island. Take a 90 minute ferry trip from the mainland, and then drive 15 minutes out into the woods. There I’ve built a custom voice over studio in our log home, backing onto the river. Yep. It’s as idyllic as it sounds.
Almost everything you’ll hear on this site was recorded on this set up, in my studio.

CHRIS McINTOSH – POSTAL AUDIO
Chris McIntosh is what we call in the industry, a “Top Notch Sound Designer”. I once watched a shelf fall off his wall because of the weight of all his awards. He’ll never compromise on the sound he puts his name on. If you want to know if you can count on the quality of Dave’s studio, Chris has this to say:
Whether Dave is recording in my studio or one of his remote locations, I always get the best performance and the best sound. His rooms are world class, just like him.
Chris… despite what a lot of people say, you ARE a likeable guy.

My Studio for Voice Over in Puerto Vallarta
(AKA – STUDIO SOUTH)
I’ve tried living in Canada through the winter. It’s a lovely place… You get the picture. After 5 years of renting condos and debating whether or not to buy, Mindi and I bit the bullet. In 2017 we bought a condo in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
While Studio North features lovely wood accents, Studio South features thick cement walls. We actually brought Roxul insulation with us to Mexico to make these dynamite sound baffles. And yes, that is an air conditioning vent in the ceiling. Thank God.
Between the two studios, you won’t hear a difference in quality. All the gear is exactly the same, so the same brilliant sound and tone never changes in my studio. The only thing that does is the number of tacos used to fuel any given session.
JOHN CHOMINSKY – ATLANTIS GROUP
I like that John Chominsky and I are pretty much the same age. I would however, like to have a few of the credits he’s got on his IMDB page. John has been recording audio since before some of your staff was born. Let that sink in.
“Was a complete pleasure to work with Dave as a voice-over talent via SourceConnect. As a recording studio owner, my priority is to make sure that all sessions run smoothly and sound great. Dave had all the bases covered.”
Thank you, sir.
